The Red Deer Community Band Society

The Red Deer Royals Show Band is one of four bands operated by the Red Deer Community Band Society. The Society has been in operation since 1968, and has been incorporated as a charitable society since 1984. We have six part time employees (music instructors and choreographers) and hire additional instructional staff from time to time. We operate the society with an elected volunteer Board of Directors and in addition rely on the labors of countless other volunteers throughout the year.

The Red Deer Community Band Society provides educational and performance opportunities to adults with minimal training as well as to those with considerable training and experience. The Society places a high priority on its youth program through its operation of the Red Deer Royals.

Adult Beginners' Band - Keith Mann, Director

This ensemble, open to adults with little or no musical experience, consists of 20-30 novice adult musicians through a twelve week program operating January through May. This has been the third year for this program and much of the growth of the Society Adult Bands can be attributed to this program.
